Internship programme

Learn the practice, not just the theory.

N.P Nsofor & Co. (Chidomerem Chambers) is committed to mentoring and developing the next generation of legal professionals — through physical and virtual placements on live files.

Our internship programme is designed to expose participants to practical legal work, legal research, drafting of legal documents, litigation support, corporate practice, client interaction and professional ethics — all under the guidance of experienced legal practitioners.

You will not spend the placement photocopying. Interns are assigned to live matters with a supervising counsel, given work that is actually used, and told candidly where that work needs to improve.

Applications are accepted periodically through the year. Submit the form below and we will contact you when the next cohort opens.

The curriculum

Eight strands of practical training.

01

Practical Legal Work

Shadow practitioners on live files and see how a matter actually moves from instruction to conclusion.

02

Legal Research

Research points of law under supervision and produce the memoranda that partners rely on.

03

Legal Drafting

Draft agreements, court processes and correspondence, and have every line marked up and explained.

04

Litigation Support

Prepare bundles, attend court with counsel and understand courtroom procedure from the inside.

05

Corporate Practice

Work on CAC filings, due diligence and compliance tasks for the firm’s corporate clients.

06

Client Interaction

Learn how to take instructions, manage expectations and communicate law to non-lawyers.

07

Professional Ethics

Study the Rules of Professional Conduct against real dilemmas rather than textbook hypotheticals.

08

Mentorship

Meet regularly with an assigned supervising counsel who reviews your progress and your work.
